Our Classes

Little Cygnets

A perfect introduction to ballet for children ages 4 - 6, where aspiring dancers will develop an exceptional understanding of coordination, musicality and expression through fun exercises taught by a highly experienced teacher.

Grade 1 - 8

These classes are for children up to the age of 18 who wish to further their ballet training following the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus. Pupils have the choice of being entered for exams, however this is optional and not a requirement in order to progress to the next grade.

Adult Ballet

We offer two different classes; one for adults who have never danced before or would prefer a gentle exercise class and another for those with considerable dance experience looking for a faster paced class that is more challenging. Both classes are great for fitness, balance and wellbeing - of course while having fun! These are more relaxed classes, so wear whatever you’re comfortable in.

About us

The Lemon Ballet School, established in 1967 by Penelope Lemon, became a family business in 1993 when her twin daughters Anwen and Lowri graduated from the Royal Ballet School (TTC). Since the school was founded, students have gone on to professionally train at prestigious schools such as the Royal Ballet School, English National Ballet School, Central Ballet School, Elmhurst, Laine Theatre Arts and Rambert and have had successful careers in dance.

Anwen Mannings (Dip. RBS(TTC), AISTD(CB,NB), RAD RTS, member of the Royal Ballet School Teacher Training Fellowship) is currently the principal and RAD teacher at our school.

Ms Lowri (Dip. RBS(TTC), AISTD(CB,NB), member of the Royal Ballet School Teacher Training Fellowship) teaches audition preparation classes, advanced training and pointework.
